Visit the Phong Nha-ki Bang National Park

Most tourists enjoy visiting major cities and seeing the sights. New York’s Central Park, the Eiffel Tower in France and the location of the old Berlin Wall are all popular destinations to visit in Western culture. For some, these city locations are enjoyable, but don’t quite quench the thirst of exploration and appreciating nature. If you consider yourself one of these adventurous tourists, the Phong Nha-Kẻ Bàng National Park off the North Central Coast of Quang Binh Province in Vietnam is an ultimate destination.

The primary attraction of Phong Nha-Kẻ Bàng National Park is its 300 caves and grottos. Many have been discovered recently, most notably Son Doong, which could be the world’s largest cave. It may sound a little scary at first, but professional guides are provided to explore these amazing caves safely.

For the more conventional outdoor tourist, Phong Nha-Kẻ Bàng National Park features a plethora of geographical features to explore. There are unique streams and waterfalls, including Chai Waterfall (50 meters tall), Nước Ngang (a spring that moves horizontally) and Nước Trồi (a stream that comes out of the ground). If you are an experienced mountain climber, the park offers very challenging and steep slopes to conquer. For those who are less adventurous, there are unique and rare trees, plants and animals to see.

Phong Nha-Kẻ Bàng National Park is a hidden gem for the outdoor tourist, and is likely to get more attention in the coming years for its unique features that provide something for everyone.
